Acupuncture has become one of the most researched and documented forms of alternative medical practices in Britain. Great commendation in its treatment of pain and mood disorders has resulted in acupuncture being approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO) for the treatment of over 70 disorders and conditions.

 

Current clinically-controlled trials demonstrate acupuncture can effectively treat or reduce symptoms in many of the following chronic and acute conditions: 

Blood and Circulation

Anaemia, angina, blood pressure problems, COAD/COPD, heart palpitations, hypertension, oedema, pain in the chest, swelling of the limbs, varicose veins.

Digestion

Abdominal pain/bloating/indigestion, constipation/diarrhoea, irritable bowel (IBS),  morning sickness, nausea and vomiting, travel sickness and Chemotherapy-induced vomiting.

Chest, Allergies and Immunity

Allergies, asthma, bronchitis, common cold, chemotherapy/radiotherapy-related weakened immunity, hay-fever, low immunity, tonsillitis.

Gynaecological 

All aspects of pre-natal, peri-natal and post-natal care, induction for delayed labour, infertility and support with IVF and fertility treatments, menstrual problems, PCOS (poly-cystic ovary syndrome), PMS, menopausal symptoms, morning sickness.

Skin

Acne, eczema and psoriasis, fungal conditions – warts and verrucae.

Mind, Mood and Energy

Although TCM does not claim to cure the following conditions, it can be of great benefit in easing and managing the symptoms of chronic illnesses such as: Cancer, Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
